Tighe School of Irish Dance |
The Daniel Tighe School of Irish Dance was formed by Danny Tighe
in 1994. Prior to relocating to North Carolina, Danny ran a number
of dance schools in Long Island, New York. Danny has been involved
in Irish dance since the age of 8. In 1978 Daniel was awarded
his Teaching Certificate of Irish Dance. Daniel has performed
with The Chieftains, The Wolf Tones, Pat Roper, Frank Paterson
and Andy Cooney.Daniel is the first Irish dance teacher in North
Carolina. He now has three schools in Raleigh, Wake Forest, and
Apex. As the interest for dance picked up, Daniel was asked to
choreograph a dance for “Dancing at Lunghnasa”; a
play presented by the Raleigh Little Theatre. Ashley House approached
Danny about teaching her a routine for the 2001 Miss North Carolina

Scottish Country Dancers |
The Raleigh Scottish Country Dancers (RSCD) is a not-for-profit
organization promoting and preserving Scottish dancing and culture
in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. The Raleigh Scottish
Country Dancers provide instruction by teachers certificated by
the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Classes are conducted weekly for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced
dancers. The Raleigh Scottish Country Dancers sponsor country dance
balls and other social activities in the Triangle area. The dancers
are also available for performances throughout the year. For more

Moore Kalat's School of Scottish Dance |
Established in Cary in 1992, the School is owned by Jo Moore
Kalat, a member of the British Association of teachers and dance
and an adjudicator for the Scottish Official Board. Her students
have won over 20 major championships, including the United States
Interregional Championship.
Jo Moore’s School of Scottish Dance was
established to provide a positive and supportive atmosphere in
which students can learn Highland dancing. The school has a strong
winning history in competition, but winning is not the goal of
the program. Jo teaches the skills that produce achievement. For
